A board game my friends got hooked on. My family lives on the other side of the world, so I made something we could still play together. Twenty-odd playtests and a lot of iterations later it stopped feeling like a side project and started feeling like taking a real product from zero to one.

Jeongganbo, the Korean notation grid. I wanted to understand how it works, so I built one I could put stones on. It composes back at you.

A goofy but meditative fruit bowl. Computer vision watches what you put in, and on the day something hits ripe the bowl knocks once and rocks until you notice.

A rotary phone that answers with history. I took a thrift store phone apart to learn how the dial talks, then wired the numbers to ten speeches. Whoever you dial picks up.

A microwave that reads the box. The meal packaging carries an RFID tag, so the oven sets its own time and power instead of leaving you to guess. Six months of it, for everyone cooking for one.

Blowing bubbles into a tablet. A straw on a copper ring fakes a touch when you breathe through it, so the screen bubbles wherever your breath lands. Kids get a lung workout and a lesson in how touchscreens actually work.

One tetrahedron, three joints. Dowel, domino, and mortise and tenon, all holding up the same basswood frame. The mitre angles took more mock-ups than I want to admit.

Coffee gear for hands that hurt. Made for trigger finger: the kettle pours by rotating in place instead of lifting and tilting, and every grip is round, wide, and soft. First prototypes were a vitamin bottle and two tennis balls.

A vase built out of broken pots. We took a hammer to thrift store planters, then rebuilt the pieces into one deconstructivist shell with a plant coming up through the crack. Damage, but on purpose.
